Trinigirl i have heard this story like yours from one of my friend. She's from Laventille also.
Laventille is obviously known to be hoarding criminals and a hotspot for criminal activities but there are alot of good, decent honest living people there that many fail to realize exist. I BLAME THE MEDIA!! The Newspapers and Television Programs portray these areas to be all bad and this is what society is led to believe instead of following their intuition.
I cannot also believe the audacity of these people to even make joke and ask you if you organizing crime or even shocked that you are so outspoken..The stigma is real ! A person supposed to be judged by their character, not their place of abode.. As for that attorney if that was me i would of given him a piece of my mind.
Trinigirl carry on , and continue to show people that their perception is false. Just because Laventille is portrayed as a criminal zone that doesn't mean that all the residents who live there are criminals or have to be subjected to a belief that many of us hold.
