Thanks to Winston Dookeran & his bunch of croonies the people of T&T have another 5 years of crime , rising prices & mismanagement of the economy to look forward to under the PNM. Maybe now the corpse (COP) can die a natural death & just fade away into the sunset.
Mr. Panday & Mr. Warner both tried their best, my hats off to them both, great job gentlemen. Please, I urge you both to not give up but to keep trying. You will have to support of the people even more behind you now.

Do you really think that COP voters would have voted for panday and warner??? The only thing more ridiculous than that, is your attempt to imply a vote for warner and panday would not lead to another five yrs of corruption and mismanagement.. or were you asleep for the last UNC term in power??.

COP voters wanted real change not more of the same.

How can someone who spits on an Intl journalists be described as a ‘gentleman’ let alone be worthy of my (or anyone’s) vote?

Until people start voting with some conscience and common sense we are doomed to a leadership calibre no better than the likes of panday, patrick and warner.

Just listening to the speeches of the UNCA on Monday night shows why they should never get back in power. All this talk about unity and they spit hatred at the first opportunity. Here was Panday on Sunday night beseeching voters to vote for him in a most pleading manner and next he is essentially cursing them. The basis tenet of democracy is teh freedom of choice and here are they, aspiring leaders, choosing to curse nationals of this country who have exercised there democratic right to support and vote for a party of their choice.SHAME ON THEM. If the votes of COP and PNM are added together this will tell the UNCA, the distrust that people have for them.

I hope that the people of Trinidad and Tobago are happy with the elections results and the fact that we now have to live another five years or more with Patrick as our Prime Minister. I wish Mr. Pandy would stop blaming COP for his failure and realise he bought it on himself. I am proud to say I voted COP because i could not in good conscience have voted any other way. Hope that the COP is really hear to stay and they stick together.

I wish they’d stop blaming another party for their inability to keep votes. If UNC-A couldn’t get people to vote for them…then don’t blame others.
*sigh*
And I wouldn’t've voted for UNC-A. I wonder how long they’ll last again this time.

As a COP supporter and an individual of mixed descent (African and Indian) I think that our present situation is unfortunate. I think everyone would now realise that the racial/racist voting patterns in T&T are here to stay. However, we should blame no one else but ourselves, because the COP gave everyone a chance to change their mindset. Unfortunately, not much people did. The only solution to this problem would be proportional representation, for the 120,000 or so ppl with a brain (sorry about that PNM and UNC supporters but I am still bitter..:)).

Let me just say to you. Instead of posting your negative views of Mr Patrick Manning, oh gosh the elections are over, can you just wish Mr Manning Good luck with God’s blessings? Is this so hard for you to say. Well I voted for the PNM because I’m benefiting from the Free Education and I’m sure your children are as well. Mr Manning has done alot for this country and he will continue his vision of taking this country to first world status. Thank God for the PNM This is truly PNM country. God bless Mr Manning and his crew!

Trinileo - do we also wish good luck to the de facto usurption of the President’s role (changing the location of the national awards and swearing-in of PM)? Do you agree with this vision? And the fact that by his actions Mr Manning disregards the importance of consultation, even within his own party? Why would I wish him good luck with that? I wish US good luck that before any of his grandiose plans are implemented that we get the time and opportunity to discuss and dispute them. Re-election does NOT mean acceptance, especially when a significant number of people did NOT vote for PNM. If you do not remove your happy blinders (and this refers to ALL “faithful” party supporters - of any party) you are liable to be hoodwinked.

doesn’t that make you think though traveller? that even with some perceived bad element in the COP, people still think Panday et al are WORSE. And show me where the “unity” can ever be with him at the helm.
Count me as one of those who would not vote UNC or PNM and would not have supported COP if they joined the UNC.

it matters not now who you voted. the die have been cast and we all have to live with the decision. i honestly believe that the people who voted for COP would have just not voted if the COP wasn’t there causing an even lower voter turn out. I also think that Panday and SOME UNC supporters are just bitter. each of the parties were separate and distinct from one another and It is wrong to blame another party for the UNC’s eventual loss. If you want to lay blame first analyse why you are in opposition in the first place. It wasn’t dookeran, baksh, yetming or any of the other COP former UNC MPs but the refound Ramesh. “the warrior for crime” who seemed to have found a concience in 2001 and lost it again soon after. The prodigal son returns !!

You mean the best excuse the UNCA can come up with for losing votes is ‘COP stole them’? That is very sad indeed. If the UNCA were representative of those votes, they probably would have received them.

Same khaki pants.

Let us realise that the COP attracted a lot of PNM supporters, something the UNC was never able to do. The COP is made up an amazing wealth of people, intellectually and socially……..Think on this…..do you think had Panday done the honourable thing and stepped aside and let Kamla lead or even Support Winston as leader of the UNC that we would ow be in this position?

WE NEED CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM…..WE MUST GO THE WAY OF POPULAS VOTE. Do the math yourselves………add the votes AGAINST the PNM………populus vote will show TNT does not support a PNM government

the people have spoken
some wanted manning, some wanted panday and some wanted dookeran
it’s just the way our elections are, manning is PM and yes we have to live with it for now but that doesn’t mean we still can’t work for change in the future
and i see you weigh your word as so important (”the people of TnT and I have spoken”); well then you should realize we are also speaking and our word matters also even if we didn’t get our desired result

national elections aren’t a primary school contest Trinileo - you can’t run in and essentially say “neneneebooboo I win, you lose” and expect that makes anyone take you seriously. Our PM didn’t gloat when he won, why should you? Most people just want to be assured that their concerns will be addressed and have hopes for the betterment of T&T, not just of a political party. You apparently just wanted to win an election. Well bravo. Your party won. Take a seat now while other people bother about doing something. Believing that there’s nothing the non-PNM supporters can do makes you as bad as Panday saying parliament is a waste of time as Opposition. You are in a fine club.

“Take that………PNM all d way” - Trinileo

Free Education is wasted on some people.

By the way Trinileo, I had a conversation with an 18 year old recently and he told me that he was voting for the PNM because he received free education. You sound like a teenager also - and a selfish one at that. Glad to know that the entire country can go to hell because you receive free education.
