I remember eagerly checking schedules and watching tv for each of George Bovell's events. As I shared a kitchen with 3 Americans and 2 Chinese, there was much amusement (goodhearted) that I paid attention to the Olympics at all, and particularly to a single medal. They understood why of course, but it was foreign to them, their country being expected to win medals in almost everything, they just didn't pay attention to it.
