Broadband Wars

So TSTT is trying to pull the wool over consumers’ eyes by rebranding their High Speed internet division to Blink because it’s “just that fast” or whatever it is their ads are saying. But here’s what I’m saying. Yet again we see TSTT being reactive, as was the case when Digicel entered the market.

Some time ago, Flow raised their package speeds, bumping people like me up from 512kbps to 2Mbit and the 2Mbit to 6. Flow was really giving TSTT a whipping, but it seems TSTT is putting all the money they were able to weasel out of consumers to use, allowing for some lower prices as we covered before.

Consumers now have 2 choices (sure, they can choose Greendot but I don’t know why anyone would) and they should consider which is best for them. With TSTT, you’re going to be locked into a contract of at least 1 year it seems while with Flow there is no such thing, in fact, you can switch your plan from month to month and if you have cable you pay less. I’ve been satisfied with my Flow service even though the speed has been fluctuating a lot. Aside from that I genuinely dislike TSTT and don’t see myself ever moving from Flow unless TSTT really comes good, which I don’t see happening.

There is a lot of discussion taking place on the broadband wars. For more information, you can check out TSTT Problems to maco or take part in discussion. The URL couldn’t be any better too.

There are only 2 real players in this so called war (TSTT and Flow), one of which permanently leaves its customers on hold on its “customer service” line.
Not much of a war there. :)
