In case you aren't aware, this is how a lot of news comes about. Companies send out press releases and news is a repurposed Press Release. "It seems that no original thought or opinion was added to even buffer the article to incite a reaction or trigger some thought." - It's news, reporting facts, not an analysis of it. There's no need for "implications" of this or if it's coming to Trinidad yet, that's not what this is about, it's about Jamaica and the reason we are getting the news is because Digicel is in Trinidad. Also, it's probable this would have been in the "regional" area of the paper. It’s not just a press release, it’s news because it’s new to the Caribbean.
