International Soca Awards 5
Jun 22nd, 2007 by Dre
After previously releasing only 39 out of the 40 official categories for the 2007 International Soca Awards the Organization has released the nominees for the 39th Category.
The category is titled Overall Soca Band of the Year and the nominees are:
Category 39 - Overall Soca Band of the Year
Red Hot flames (Antigua)
El-A-Kru (Antigua)
Jabae (Barbados)
Machel Montano HD (TNT)
Roy Cape All Stars (TNT)
In addition to the completion of the categories the Soca Organization has released the details of the date and venue where the awards will take place as well as the price of the tickets.
Calling it the The Biggest Soca Event for the Summer, the the 5th Annual International Soca Awards, is being held at the newly refurbished Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts “Walt Whitman Theater” which has a seating capacity of 2,384.
The show will be held on a day dubbed Soca Sunday, the day before Labor Day, September 2nd 2007, and the ticket prices range from $45 - $55 USD with VIP tickets also available at an undisclosed price.
The timing of this event to correspond with the Labor Day weekend bodes well for the quality of performers as well as ensuring that most if not all of the winners will be present to collect their awards. Hopefully these factors will work in the organization’s favor to have a sold out event as they are now competing with all of the other activities that weekend.
It would probably benefit them to release the retail avenues and venues where tickets can be purchased both in Trinidad and New York as well as online so that early plans can be laid by all.
If you are interested in attending or for more information you can contact the Soca Awards Organization at 1-888-984-SOCA (7622) (Toll Free), 1-718-485-8090 or via email at socaawards@gmail.com, info@socaawards.com.
