Connect Trinidad

After reading the post and comments on a review of the new Flow service introductions I wondered about the quality of the high speed internet access offerings in Trinidad and Tobago.

A couple of thoughts and questions arose such as is the infrastructure in place to realize Vision 2020, which service does UWI, St Augustine, UTT and other tertiary institutions utilize and are they well served.

In addition to Flow, a service of Columbus Cable the other available connections are TSTT’s DSL, EV-DO, Greendot’s Satellite Service and Digicel’s GPRS service.

What I want to know is the service you use, the speeds you get and which would you want to switch too if the opportunity presented itself.

If I forgot any other provider let me know, and no I am not talking about Laqtel and their non-existent service.

This information will also provide some perspective on how competitive Trinidad is when it comes to internet connectivity.

Hopefully in the future Digicel adds to the mix by introducing the WIMAX technology that they now have up in Jamaica.

Dre, I hear Cariblink is also about to debut their own wireless broadband internet. It’s a little to pricey, but it’s cheaper (as it always is) if you sign a contract. To answer your question though, I still use dial up and I’ll only switch to broadband when prices drop some more.
