As a young man living in Trinidad, I blame Danah for attending the concert. But every young person wanted to attend the concert. It doesn’t give Akon or any performer the right to treat our beautiful women in that manner, regardless of age. Are his skills as a performer that poor that he needed to lie to the crowd to get some dancers on stage. I was present at the concert. That part of the act was disgusting. I have been to concerts all over the world and seen / enjoyed many acts based on the quality of the music, the artistes voice and their back-up dancers etc. Soft porn should be left to cinemax after dark. As a society that is under attack daily, striving for a place for our children and younger siblings to have a decent place to grow up; We must condemn these types of performances and performers; and Danah and her parents must re-evaluate her actions and their mode of parenting and her general behavior.

i was not aware of this incidence until i heard akon’s sorry put the blame on me song. based from the news and the video and the photos that i’ve seen,these are my thoughts re the matter:
1. i know that she (danah alleyne) was a pastor’s daughter and a 15-year old girl, but i’m sorry she could have stopped in the midst of the dancing and ‘intimaticies’. for god’s sake! it’s not like she was drugged or something that she would not be able to refuse or say stop!
2. okay, okay granted that she was “lured” into dancing for a trip to africa prize, and before she knew it she was in the midst of this “lewd dancing”, well the way i see it, she looks like she was enjoying herself.
3. she was a pastor’s daughter, she went to the club and the zen’s lenient security, she got in and watched the concert and then wham! she’s in the mid of all controversy..hmmmm..maybe daddy’s teachings are not yet ingrained and inculcated enough.
4. besides, her dress is way too provocative.
and you akon, i like your songs but this incidence, it’s way below the belt. on your song sorry you can put the blame on me, you said you love your fans and that your just a singer who wants to entertain, is this the way you treat your fans –esp your female fans? come to think of it, is this the way you generally treat women? and on your other shows, did you do the same stunt on other women? or is this part of your ghetto rapper image?
and the club’s security was also at fault, they we’re too lenient, if they allowed teenagers to get in, there’s a possibility that they also allow teenagers to partake liquors or alcohol.
and to verizon, what an a*$h*!e! just because one of their endorsers did a misfit that doesn’t mean that it already represent the whole company! pontius pilate!
i hope that danah learned something as well as akon.this is such a big wake up call to every entertainer(let’s act a little civilized people!caveman dwellings and actions happened ages ago),to the parents and to the audience as well as to the event organizers. and finally, let’s stop pointing fingers, let’s just take responsibility of our actions and do something about it.

Alright, Im blameing the girl. First of all, a 15 yr old girl shouldn’t be sneaking into an 18 yr old club. Dressing like a whore, and dancing like one too. She asked for what she got, and in the pictures she was smileing the whole time. She liked it. Akon didn’t know she was 15. Its not his fault.

Let me interject my two cents in, how many of you Trini did stupid stuff when you where young (I did). How many of you young women dress inappropriate and lude around Carnival time and dance worse than Danah. How many of you young girls in Trinidad lie to your parents about where you are. A lie is a lie, so don’t judge Danah, if you live in a glass house. As for Akon he made women look like sluts, but that what you Trini allow these artiest to do to you’ll. They get back to the US and brag about those loose Trini gul. Yes he was performing, but we went a bit to far, also he had no way of knowing that Danah was 14 or 15 the club should have handle that, but everything goes in Trinidad. Carnival time no one ID so what the heck am I talking about its free up in TnT. Some of the young ladies should not have used such strong language, it makes them just as bad as Danah or even worse. People starting taking pride in yourself, show respect for others and don’t let these artiest dis you guys like that, we have the most beautiful people In the world. Remember the old people saying don’t throw big stones if ya live In a glass houses. We are losing respect for each other, this week tell someone ya love them, and the next time ya see a bredwin on the road say hi and smile (not only to the girls ok), we have to much tension in TnT, ah love ya but we need to get back to the old times and love each other.

I think that many of us are missing the bigger picture which is that Akon clearly misrepresented his intentions. I am old enough to be this girl’s mother, and honestly believe that many women may have been willing to enter a dance contest in order to win a “Free Trip to Africa” because that is a dream trip. Entering a dance contest to win a trip is in no way consent for Akon to do want he did. Had he been honest, there is a chance that she may not have stepped onto the stage. I am not excusing her for her role, but we call children under 18 minors for a reason. These girls may have womanly bodies, but they are not mentally ready for adult decisions. She made a mistake and I hope she will learn from it. However, Akon is a professional performer with a lot more to lose. He should have his staff seek out volunteers prior to showtime, verify their id, and get written consent before engaging in simulated sexual activity on stage. He needs to use his mind before he loses what he has been given and get “Locked Up” again.

She may have been misbehaving and encouraging it, but the bottom line is that she is a teen. Teens do not understand consequences the way an adult is expected to. Even though she looks older for 15, she sure doesn’t look 20. Her hips, her face, are smaller and not developed to the point that a grown woman would be. Some women are more petite than others, but in general, you can tell.

A responsible adult would have looked her over and decided that she was visibly too close to underage to be sure, and would give her a graceful exit from the stage. It is an irresponsible adult who decides to disregard his effect on a young girl’s life, and risk the consequences on his life and career, by humping on a girl that looks very young.

What Akon is doing is pathetic. I love his music, but what he is doing is degrading not only himself, but black people also. He should know better than to go around humping folks because it not only reflects on him, but black people, the black music industry and his family. He should be ashame of himself. The fact that I have not seen or heard even one public apology from him, just makes me wonder WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM? Tara Reid was wrong for letting him do that to her because it allowed him to think that he could do anything he want to anyone he wants. He has to face the consequences of his actions and step up and be a man and apologize. He went from hump a grown woman to “simulated” raping a 14 years old girl. I am not saying that the girl is innocent because lets face it, what kids know about sex today would shock a grown adult. Kids are having sex younger and younger these days, but Akon is a GROWN MAN and he needs to act like it. Whenever I used to hear people talk bad about hip hop and the effect it has on society, especially kids. I used to say if you don’t want to hear it then change the channel. But this is getting out of hand, there is no way anyone can ignore something like this. I loved most of Akon’s music thinking anyone who sing/rap like him is gifted and has a beautiful soul. BUT WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM? I heard HE HAS THREE WIVES THAN HE NEEDS TO KEEP IT AT HIM. I used to think like alot of girl.
