This week we start on a Thursday with a two part Featured Friday as we have an extensive, exclusive interview with LeXXXus Sound.

LeXXXus, an International Soca Award nominee for their previous mixtape, is set to release their latest mixtape titled “Soca Gone Clear.”

It’s just in time to retrieve those Carnival memories we all have been fighting to suppress or gives us a chance to relive the experiences of the Carnival season.

They have even provided us with a sample teaser for today as we look forward to releasing a download link to the entire mixtape album tomorrow.

And now the interview:

What is the make up of LeXXXus Sounds?
There Is Wayne The DJ, Ringo The MC, Justin who also MC’s and does some production, my boy Maniak handles the graphics (real talented) and Ryan manages all the bookings and organizing along with the production of the mixtapes.

How did you guys come together?
Faith I guess, we all really just met sometime and realized we wanted to do something.

Why Music/DJ?
Simple, because to us, music is life. Go through an entire day without hearing any sounds and hear how much fun that is!!!

Describe your playing style?
We try to be different, but sometimes different is not openly welcome, but we definitely try to stand out and aim to please.

You’ll were recently nominated for best Soca CD, tell us about that.
It was for the 2006 International Soca Awards hosted in New York and is held by the Soca Awards Organization. We were nominated for our 2006 mixtape Soca Xtreme in the Best Soca CD Category.

You specialize in mixtapes, your latest offering “Soca Gone Clear” is not available for resale. Why?
Our mixtapes are really a promotional tool. We receive bookings from all over the world based on them. That and we are working on becoming fully educated on copyright laws and the whole nine yards.

When is the release of Soca Gone Clear?
Soca Gone Clear is slated for the 10th of April. This coincides with the anniversary of the 2006 edition of Soca Xtreme.

If Soca Xtreme remains at the number one spot on the ReggaeSound.com Soca charts it would be an entire year that the CD has held the position and that would be an achievement along with it being nominated for a Soca Award.
