RSS Tweaking
Feb 17th, 2007 by Dre
Another slight modification that fixes an issue where the “Original News” link in the RSS Feed was redirected to Allyuh rather than the original news link. It should be fine now.
For those unfamiliar to RSS:
RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcasts.
Users of RSS content use programs called feed ‘readers’ or ‘aggregators’: the user ’subscribes’ to a feed by supplying to their reader a link to the feed; the reader can then check the user’s subscribed feeds to see if any of those feeds have new content since the last time it checked, and if so, retrieve that content and present it to the user.
Simply put, it allows you to check for stories that have been submitted and voted on as well as any other feeds you subscribe to without visiting the respective site. Sort of an inbox for your web surfing.
If you don’t currently subscribe to the various RSS feeds and want to take advantage if this feature we recommend Google Reader.
We have given you a series of choices in the feeds you can subscribe to at Allyuh:
You can use the links below to subscribe
The “Popular” Feed - A feed of all the stories that have hit the front page.
The “Upcoming” Feed - A feed of all upcoming stories that you may want to cast your vote on.
The “All” Feed - A combination of both the Popular and Upcoming feeds.
These are in addition to this Blog feed that can be subscribed to.
